We have set up a new Section on Community Support which appears at the top of the website. In it we feature some of the many local organisations in remote areas we have visited in January 2013 which are working with little government support to ease the hardship of vulnerable groups, such as those who are innocent victims of the civil war.

But please note this happens mostly in the tourist areas and that the vast majority of Sri Lankan people across the country are decent, honest and offer overwhelmingly generous hospitality….

Pirith at The Abode 1st January 2013
The following week we attended Pirith at The Abode in thanksgiving. 
Zahira school in Kattenkudy We visited this school in the Eastern Province for children with special needs. Kattenkudy is also infamous for the massacre of hundreds on Moslems at prayer in 1990. We are taken to one of the mosques where it happened.
