In September 2010 our next long trek across Sri Lanka begins in the NW, with a safari to Wilpattu National Park, visits along the NW frontier and hopefully to the northern territories to Jaffna. Details of what we find and our photos will be posted here during the month so don’t miss them!
Check out our new place at Pesali, featured below, in the NW of Sri Lanka for it will be one of our first stops. It opened in August and we offer a genuine eco conscious experience for those who want to live with local people and experience their joys and challenges.
And see the special site Sid has set up to feature the trips and tours he offers. www.abodetours.com

Read about our new place to stay on Mannar Island which is off the NW coast of Sri Lanka. For many years, Mannar was forbidden territory to visitors as it was badly affected by the civil war. But it is a beautiful, untouched part of the island and ideal for those who like unexplored places.
Workaway is a scheme by which people can volunteer their time by working on a project. The volunteers put in five hours honest work per day in exchange for food and accommodation with friendly hosts in varying situations and surroundings.
Come and Workaway with us at The Abode!
